National Road Safety Week

The National Road Safety Week is observed in the first week of January every year all over the country to inculcate the culture of road safety amongst the citizens. Forum for Prevention of Road Accidents (FPRA) observed the 21st National Road Safety Week 2010 in Orissa from 1st January to 10th January, 2010 under the theme of "Life is Safe if Driving is Safe". On this occasion, a Road Safety Awareness Drive was lunched and a numbers of outreach activities like training workshops, painting competitions, eye testing camps, foot rallies etc. were organized with sponsorship of EICHER Motors, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE) and Regional Transport Authority, Cuttack. One of the key objectives of these safety programmes is to create awareness on issues related to road safety amongst students and general masses.
